Joy Without Division

Purple waxed denim from Pac Sun

Ive always loved this print made classic by Joy Division.
Eye necklace and Skull Bracelet from Earthbound Trading co.
In love would be an understatement on how I feel about these Irregular Choice shoes, so unique and insanely comfortable. I got stopped over and over in these shoes with compliments.

Shirt and belt both thrifted from Goodwill
Here's an outfit i'll let speak for itself, what I can say is that this one makes me feel happy, the soft fabric, the colorful print and some of my most loved accessories.
Its getting hot out so it might be time to pack the jeans and show some leg. Im on the hunt for more good, fun spring/summer open toed shoes.. If you have any faves Id love to hear about them in the comments.

Casual Badass-ery OOTD

Its no secret Im very lazy when it comes to Fashion, I want to be effortlessly fabulous, though it rarely works out quite that way. So today's OOTD is all about practical comfort with easy basics without looking to much like a slob lol...
Basics Outfit Breakdown : Cardigan, Racerback Tank Top, Jeans and Boots

Studded Seattle Love Boots made by Jeffrey Campbell for Free People
Single spike necklace from forever 21
Sparkle Stripe Cardigan by Calvin Klein Thrifted from Goodwill
I wanted this outfit to be casual, slouchy and flowy for comfort but a bit rough and tumble as well with the spiked boots and spike necklace. These boots are extremely heavy but I am so in love with them I just wanted to stomp around town all night in them..Throwing them on made me instantly feel like "Oh yeah I could kick butt" adding just a lil edge to an overall casual outfit.
The Jeans,Tank and Cardigan were all thrifted making this a fairly inexpensive outfit.
Extra shout out to my husband who took these pics even though the wind coming off the river was FREEZING..
Last post I got nominated for a blog award :D Thank you so much, Ill try and get a post up about it soon.
So tell me in the comments What is one thing you are really lazy about when it comes to fashion or getting ready?
Thanks for Reading

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice,Beetleju...........

The black and while stripes trend is in full effect and will always remind me of one of my fave Tim Burton flicks Beetlejuice. So I kept it mono chromatic head to toe with the exception of the tank under the distressed sweater with a few lil pops of color.
Raw Crystal Necklace from US 1 Flea Market

Unif Hellbounds I think add an edge to an otherwise soft outfit.
(Nothing like a huge shoe on a girl with huge feet, sideshow circus act)

White sweater from Goodwill, with H&M skull tank under. MAC Candy Yum Yum on Lips.

The pants are Harem Pants from Forever 21, lightweight and breezy.

This outfit was from last week and it was so cold but this week its warming up so maybe I can break out the fun clothes and show some pale Spring has sprung, What are you most excited about for this spring?
For me it's the chance to do more things outdoors, I love the outdoors. Not the bugs but all the rest. It'll soon be swimsuit season so spring is also the time to get in better shape. Im going to attempt it, wish me luck. If anyone would like to see it I'll post my workout outfit, I discovered its pretty easy to look cute while getting in shape.

Thanks for checking out this outfit, Hope you'll consider following the blog if you like my style. Til next time.

Holographic Curiosities OOTD

Hologram has come back into fashion in a big way in the last 6 months and renewed the love I had for it when I was a teen.
So when I saw these Holographic shoes from Qupid on I had to have them. So here is a quick OOTD I threw together they day they showed up. I couldn't wait to get them on.
Navy and Pink Rebecca Minkoff Mac Bag from
The laces kept coming untied, not sure how to fix that just yet.
Shirt is from Obscura, Antiques in NYC home of the Sci channel show Oddities.

They can look very subtle depending on how the light hits, an  over cast day like this they are pale silver.
While I love these shoes I have got to say these are by far my most painful shoes Ive ever owned, I'm not sure why. They seem like most of my Lita's, platform and thick heel etc but they position my foot oddly. I think i'll see about padding them a bit and i'll report back in the future on them.
Skirt from Forever 21 with Thrifted Fossil belt.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out this outfit, so Hologram. Do you love it? Hate it? not sure? Im in love with that rainbowy goodness :)
Hope you'll come back for more

All those little things called Me

As promised im finally going to introduce myself , Hi :) I'm Gwen, online I go by Ilectra. I'm happily married living in the south and Ive never seen myself as very "Style" savvy but its something I enjoy whether or not i'm very good at it. So that has lead me to this style blogging journey where I hope to capture and share my style and in doing so I hope to evolve myself into a somewhat more savvy gal and maybe just maybe give others some inspiration along the way.

In prepping for this post I already learned some things about myself I had not realized before, I grew up in the 90's sooooooo.
My Style Icons were Tori Amos, Shirley Manson and Jessie from Full House, They were the first to influence my style, I recall as a young teen going Thrifting and buying bold hued silk button down shirts cause I wanted to look like "Uncle Jessie" so badly.
I was also in awe of the style of Kurt Cobain , Kelly Bundy and Elvira. I sported big crosses, ripped jeans, over sized shirts and lots of black. When I look back at the six styles above I realized that although I have gone thru many style phases over the years that I still see these six as my style icons. Combined the six make up the perfect picture of what I love in fashion and attitude.
Thru the years jeans and a tee have been a fashion staple for me because I find a comfortable woman to be sexier and more confidant. But that said it can get a lil boring so gotta mix it up from time to time.

I'm a huge fan of the Black Milk Clothing Label, I own an extensive collection of their Leggings and Bodysuits with wild, fun and bold prints, so they have become a new staple for me.
I also have a down right fetish for shoes and boots (the more fun and wild the better), Jeffrey Campbell, Unif and Steve Madden being some of my faves.

Lastly DIY should possibly be my middle name, I love very little more then designing and creating my own clothing and accessories. In the above outfit I made the shirt (how to video up on My Youtube ) and I created the boots.

I hope this has given you a better idea of what you can expect from me and my posts. Thank you for reading and plz come back for more. Please comment and tell me If you had to pick just one person who influenced your style who would you choose??

I can also be found on Tumblr ,Polyvore ,Instagram and Youtube.

Spaced Out On A Dreary Day

I had some fun designing and creating my own shirt last week, Photoshop and some Iron on Transfers and I have the beginning of my casual errand running outfit of the day.

Along with the shirt, I wore Blue Galaxy BlackMilk Leggings and now discontinued Banddit Boots by Steve Madden. I layered up a bit and added a Moto Jacket from Forever 21 for warmth. Super comfy to run around town in or just hang out with friends.

Next post I have planned is a bit of a Get to know me style profile, so I hope you'll check back for that. Thanks for checking out my OOTD.
